The Dorado 300 and 400 Servers support the following type of I/O processor: • SIOP, Storage IOP The SIOP supports PCI cards that connect to tapes and disks. The cards are classified as Host Bus Adapters (HBA). The PCI cards can be Fibre, SCSI, or SBCON. The Dorado 300 Server supports the following types of I/O processors: • CIOP, Communications IOP The CIOP supports an Ethernet PCI card. This is also known as a network interface card (NIC). CIOP is not supported on Dorado 400. • XIOP, Extended IOP The XIOP supports one connection to the XPC-L. The Myrinet is the only supported card. The Myrinet card only goes into slot 0. Slot 1 must remain unused. XIOP is not supported on Dorado 400. 1–16 3839 6586–010

There must be a redundant SIOP that is UP and can access the same peripherals as the SIOP being loaded. If this restriction is not met for disks, the online load process could result in a system stop, system hang, or have unpredictable results. If you have peripherals that are single path or you are loading several SIOPs, you should use SUMMIT offline EPTS. 3839 6586–010 1–17
