<strong>of</strong> August 1987. Leader Cyril Ramaphosa hails the strike as an<br />
organisational victory, even though the workers failed to win all<br />
their demands, and in spite <strong>of</strong> the police violence that killed nine<br />
workers and wounded hundreds <strong>of</strong> others. Also comments <strong>of</strong> Jay Naidoo.<br />

Een reportage over de radicalisering in Zuid-Afrika: enerzijds de<br />
jonge zwarten (comrades) die zich radicaler en geweldadiger<br />
opstellen tegenover de gematigde ouderen, anderzijds de groei <strong>van</strong><br />
extreem-rechtse blanke groeperingen als de AWB. Ook aandacht voor<br />
het steeds harder wordende politie-optreden. Als voorbeeld wordt de<br />
blanke plaats Krugersdorp genomen, met ten noorden daar<strong>van</strong> de<br />
zwarte township Munsieville, waar de comrades de macht uitmaken,<br />
consumenten-boycotts uitroepen en handhaven, en dmv eigen<br />
rechtbanken 'verraders' berechten, tot aan necklacing toe.<br />
