#76: The railway strike II: Film about the railway strike that
started in March 1987, witch untill then was the biggest strike yet
in the public sector. 18.000 workers were sacked by the management.
The strike ended in victory in June: all workers were reinstated.
With Mike Roussos of the SA Railway and Harbour Workers' Union and
Jay Naidoo of COSATU.
#87: Lessons of the minerstrike: Examination of the miner's strike
of August 1987. Leader Cyril Ramaphosa hails the strike as an
organisational victory, even though the workers failed to win all
their demands, and in spite of the police violence that killed nine
workers and wounded hundreds of others. Also comments of Jay Naidoo.

Summary:
Een reportage over de radicalisering in Zuid-Afrika: enerzijds de
jonge zwarten (comrades) die zich radicaler en geweldadiger
opstellen tegenover de gematigde ouderen, anderzijds de groei van
extreem-rechtse blanke groeperingen als de AWB. Ook aandacht voor
het steeds harder wordende politie-optreden. Als voorbeeld wordt de
blanke plaats Krugersdorp genomen, met ten noorden daarvan de
zwarte township Munsieville, waar de comrades de macht uitmaken,
consumenten-boycotts uitroepen en handhaven, en dmv eigen
rechtbanken 'verraders' berechten, tot aan necklacing toe.
