Summary:
In 1986 black and white mothers started to act in an effort to end
the escalating conflict in their country. One of the ways they did
this was by making a Peace Ribbon. Individually or collectively,
women sewed, drew or painted their visions of peace which were
joined in the Ribbion, that reached a length of over 500 meter. It
was shown in public places and was displayed whenever women
discussed peace. The documentary follows the journey of the Peace
Ribbon over eight months in South Africa, at a time when protest
was almost impossible because the General State of Emergengy was declared.
