Summary:
This documentary consists of three talking heads punctuated by
transitional shots of the seashore, which frame segments of the
discussion. The three participants, Neville Alexander, Fikile Bam
and Kwedi Mkalipi did 'time' together in the isolation section of
Robben Island. They explain how the South African government
inadvertently helped to build a closeness between diverse political
groupings and individuals by holding them in a single section on
Robben Island. They discuss how they survived emotional deprivation
and social isolation and built solidarity and discipline in the
early brutal years of their incarceration after 1964. This was done
through establishing a prisoners' committee, and devising formal,
informal and clandestine educational methods, which benefitted
themselves and fellow prisoners, and eventually even the warders.
Also attention is given to their relationships with Nelson Mandela
and Walter Sisulu whom they describe as people with great dignity and strength.

Summary:
On the night of January 8, 1978, Dr. Rick Turner, a leading
opponent of apartheid, was assassinated in his house. In this film
his two daughters, Kim and Jann, tell about what they remember of
that night and what kind of impact it had on their lives. Also an
interview with David Pallister, journalist of the Guardian, who
speaks about methods and strategies ("total strategy") of the South
Africangovernment, wich is believed to be responsible for this
kind of assassinations.
