Statement of Qualifications – Environmental Laboratory Services
Environmental Microbiological Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP) and
participates in AIHA Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing
(EMPAT) Program (Lab ID# 158835).
Odour Analysis and Characterization
An olfactometer is a laboratory instrument that facilitates the determination of odour detection and
recognition thresholds. It accurately dilutes and presents odorous samples to panellists for evaluation.
Typically, olfactometer data is used to assess environmental impact, regulatory compliance, the
effectiveness of air pollution control measures, and assist in the development of perfumed products and
food taste enhancements.
Analysis of odour samples using triangular forced-choice, dynamic dilution olfactometer and panel of 8
trained assessors.
Facilities and procedures meet ASTM Standard E679-91, European Standard Draft prEN 13725, and
Ontario Ministry of Environment draft standard for odour analysis.
On-site analysis available.
On-site Non-Destructive & Laboratory-Based Analysis of Lead in Paint, Air & Bulk Samples
Pinchin Environmental has the capabilities and experience to assist building owners and construction
managers in the control of lead hazards in construction and renovation. Many older paints contain high
levels of lead. Lead control and clean up may also be required in older industrial properties where lead
dust remains from past operations.
Environmental and occupational health and safety regulations make owners, architects, engineers and
construction supervisors responsible to identify and control the potential hazards from lead on a project.
Pinchin Environmental can ensure these responsibilities are met.
• Measurement of lead in paint with on-site non-destructive X-Ray Fluorescence
instrumentation.
• Analysis of lead in paint, soil, air samples and swabs with Anodic Stripping Voltametry.
On-site services available for rapid turnaround.
