Statement of Qualifications – Environmental Laboratory Services<br />

Don Stefanchuk, is Manager of the Winnipeg office and obtained a Diploma in Civil Engineering<br />
Technology from Red River College, and has training in asbestos control and environmental site and<br />
building condition assessments. His work includes experience as a field engineer/project co-ordinator<br />
with a major general contracting firm. Mr. Stefanchuk has provided environmental site service and<br />
asbestos consulting services to building owners, engineers, and others on over 500 asbestos projects in<br />
Manitoba and north-western Ontario. He conducts all levels of asbestos training for this area. Don has<br />
special experience in high-arctic projects and large-scale industrial removal, including high-heat removal<br />
on active boilers and process equipment.<br />
Peter J. Griffin, B.Sc., MBA, CIH, CRSP, is a Senior Occupational Hygienist with <strong>Pinchin</strong><br />
Environmental. Peter Griffin has an extensive background in the field of occupational safety and health.<br />
He has experience in management in both the private and public sectors. For 13 years, he was the<br />
Manager of Occupational Hygiene for the Province of Manitoba. In this role, he developed a thorough<br />
understanding of the legislative requirements for safety and health. His experience in the private sector<br />
allows him to identify with the problems in workplaces, and provides him with the knowledge to help<br />
clients comply with legislation in a reasonable and practical manner. Peter Griffin has conducted<br />
hundreds of assessments of workplaces to identify hazards, evaluate their risk potential, and implement<br />
effective control measures. He has been accepted as an expert witness by the Manitoba Department of<br />
Justice. He was an instructor for Manitoba’s larger post-secondary education institutions, and has helped<br />
many students understand the importance, and gain knowledge of the safety and health field. He has also<br />
developed and delivered training courses to a large number of organizations and workplaces on a variety<br />
of topics. His education, background and experience provide a valuable resource to clients.<br />
Jay Snedden, Senior Project Manager for the Manitoba and NW Ontario Region, Mr. Snedden has over<br />
twenty years experience in the field of hazardous materials assessment, control and management.<br />
Employed for several years with two of Canada’s larger hazardous materials abatement contractors, Mr.<br />
Snedden has brought a unique perspective to the firm, one that has distinguished him as someone who can<br />
bring a sound yet practical approach to the many challenges that face our industry today. In addition to<br />
providing regular site inspection and air monitoring on numerous projects ranging in size from routine<br />
one- to two-day abatement operations, too much larger multi-year projects, Mr. Snedden has extensive<br />
experience in the field of project design, specification preparation and management. Project experience<br />
extends to the co-ordination of work in isolated communities such as Canada’s high Arctic and many<br />
First Nation communities, to work on multi-phased removal projects as performed in occupied schools,<br />
hospitals, office towers, industrial or commercial structures. Over more recent years, he has broadened<br />
his field of expertise to include consulting and management responsibilities in the field of hazardous<br />
mould assessment and removal, and to Infection Control in health care facilities throughout the region.<br />
Jason Combe is Manager – Hazardous Materials Services for the <strong>Pinchin</strong> Environmental. Mr. Combe<br />
brings over a decade of experience in hazardous materials assessment, control and management to the<br />
position. As well, his unique background and skill sets give him an advantage in offering clients<br />
problem-solving strategies that combine in-depth knowledge with a hands-on, practical approach.<br />
