Brugada syndrome
Originally thought to be a disease
primarily of men from Southeast Asia, it is
now identified in women, children, and
non– Asian ethnic groups.
Patients may present with self-terminating
episodes of ventricular tachycardia during
exertion. If the diagnosis is supported by
ECG findings, referral should be made for
EP testing and consideration of automated
implantable cardiac defibrillator
placement.
