Congenital LQTS is predominantly a
hereditary disorder, usually transmitted in
an AD manner. In a smaller number of
affected subjects, transmission is AR and
associated with sensorineural deafness.
This disorder is associated with torsade de
pointes, usually precipitated by emotional
circumstances and/or physical activity, and
presents clinically with syncope and sudden
death.
