PARKING LOT POLICIES<br />
All vehicles must be registered in order to park in <strong>JCHS</strong> campus parking lots. <strong>Student</strong>s must pay a<br />
registration fee of $1. Parking permits should be placed on the lower right side of front windshield.<br />
<strong>Student</strong> parking is located in the north lots (upper and lower).<br />
The Parking lots adjacent to the Deever Building on the CAC and the Northwest, Northeast and<br />
Southeast parking lots of the FSAC are designated for Faculty/Staff use only. <strong>Student</strong>s who are<br />
parked in these designated areas or areas designated for Visitors Only are subject to a<br />
$25.00 fine, loss of parking privileges, and/or towing at the owners expense.<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s are not permitted to operate any vehicle or congregate on either <strong>JCHS</strong> Campus parking<br />
lots during school hours. Exceptions may be granted by the administration for seniors on work<br />
experience/senior release, or for students entering/leaving campus buildings during the lunch hour.<br />
<strong>JCHS</strong> parking lots come under the jurisdiction of the JCPD, who have the authority to issue tickets<br />
for traffic/parking violations. Please note the 5 mph speed limit.<br />
GUEST/VISITATION POLICY<br />
A ―guest‖ is defined as a non-<strong>JCHS</strong> student or employee.<br />
1. No student guests will be allowed on campus during the school day (including lunch period).<br />
2. All visitors to <strong>JCHS</strong> Career Academy Campus must sign in at the Visitors/Security Office immediately<br />
on entering the main entrance of the campus building and must wear visitor badges<br />
while in the building. Visitors to the Freshman Success Academy Campus will enter through<br />
the main entrance doors located at the Southwest corner of the facility and sign in through the<br />
administrative offices.<br />
3. Former <strong>JCHS</strong> students may visit staff members before or after school only. Graduates utilized<br />
as guest speakers are to be treated as any other guest speaker.<br />
4. <strong>JCHS</strong> students may not bring children to school.<br />
5. Any exceptions must be approved at least 1 day prior to the visit by a principal.<br />
GUEST AT SCHOOL DANCES<br />
All guest dates must be signed up in advance with the sponsor of the club/organization sponsoring<br />
the event and be in good standing with <strong>JCHS</strong>. No middle school students will be allowed to<br />
attend any high school dances/prom. The date must be accompanied by his/her <strong>JCHS</strong> date at<br />
the time admission is sought; some form of photo identification is required.<br />
ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL-SPONSORED ACTIVITIES & EVENTS<br />
Attendance at School Activities and/or School Athletic Competitions is one of the many privileges<br />
of being a student at Junction City High School. It is Academic Achievement, however, that is the<br />
primary purpose of a school. For that reason, students who wish to attend Activities and/or School<br />
Athletic Competitions hosted by Junction City High School, must meet specific Academic Criteria.<br />
At the beginning of each semester, Administrative Staff will check the grades of students returning<br />
to Junction City High School. Those that meet the criteria below will be eligible for the first six<br />
weeks of the new semester. Freshmen are automatically eligible for the first six weeks of their 9th<br />
grade year. New students are eligible if they met the academic criteria at their previous school.<br />
Full-time students must have passed at least five (5) of their Academic Classes in the previous<br />
semester or grading period to be eligible for participation. For students without full-time schedules,<br />
or who came from schools with less than seven (7) Academic Classes the following chart<br />
will be used:<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s with only six (6) academic classes, must have passed at least five (5)<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s with only five (5) academic classes, must have passed at least four (4)<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s with only four (4) academic classes, must have passed at least three (3)<br />
• <strong>Student</strong>s with only three (3) or fewer academic classes must have passed all classes.<br />
• Note – Seminar Period does not count for eligibility purposes.
