o School-appropriate conduct is expected when using computers, the network and the Internet<br />

o <strong>Student</strong>s will be supervised<br />

o The privileges of any user can be revoked for inappropriate behavior<br />

o The definition of inappropriate behavior/use of the internet or network will be determined by the<br />

administration and/or staff<br />

o Instructional use of the Internet by a teacher may include whole group instruction to all students<br />

o Users will keep passwords secure<br />

o Users may encounter material that is controversial, inappropriate, or offensive and shall report<br />

any incidents to the technology department. The user shall not initiate access to such material.<br />

o Material retrieved through internet access is governed by us copyright regulations.<br />

o Parents/guardians may request that their student be denied permission for individual access to<br />

the internet while at school by contacting the building principal in writing.<br />

Unacceptable Use<br />

o Sending or downloading offensive messages and pictures<br />

o Bullying, harassing, insulting or attacking others<br />

o Using the network for commercial or financial gain<br />

o Damaging computers, electronic media, or computer networks<br />

o Vandalizing the data of another user or other networks<br />

o Using another’s password, folders, or files<br />

o Unauthorized use of copyrighted material<br />

o Posting anonymous messages<br />

o Willfully accessing unauthorized or inappropriate Internet content<br />

o Unacceptable use may result in disciplinary action (i.e. cancellation of privileges, detention,<br />

and/or expulsion) and/or legal action<br />

SECTION VII: ACTIVITIES/ATHLETICS/STUDENT<br />

ORGANIZATIONS<br />

CLASS/CLUB OFFICER AND STUCO<br />

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS<br />

I. Leadership Positions:<br />

A. President-Preside over and maintain order of all meetings.<br />

B. Vice President-Preside over meetings in the absence of the President<br />

C. Secretary-Take attendance; take minutes and give to the officers/ sponsor within 3 school<br />

days.<br />

D. Treasurer-Work with Sponsor to account for all funds (deposits/or debits in the ledger).<br />

II. Qualifications:<br />

A. Meet all KSHSAA eligibility requirements (requires a minimum of 5 classes passed the<br />

previous semester and at least 5 classes are taken during each semester of participation)<br />

B. Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5<br />

C. Candidates must be at grade level<br />

D. No class officer may have disciplinary action resulting in Suspension, more than (3) hours<br />

of ASD, or truancy problems from prior year or during term of office. Must complete the<br />

application and class officer contract by stated deadline.
