on <strong>the</strong> hill still called Demas Hill. Jle was one <strong>of</strong> nine sons,<br />

seven <strong>of</strong> whom were in <strong>the</strong> war <strong>of</strong> tlic revolution. They re-<br />

moved abont <strong>the</strong> year 1800 to Montagne, Mass., where she<br />

died Dec. 8, 1840, aged 82. Their children, all born in New<br />

Britain, were :<br />

i. Sidney, b. March 8, 1780; m. Oct. 24, 1804, Mary<br />

<strong>Clark</strong> (iio), born Sept. 25, 1784, died Dec. 29, 1862,<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Abel and Abioail TJndd) <strong>Clark</strong>. Sidney<br />

d. Feb. 20, 1864.<br />

ii. Noah, b. March 19, 1782 ; m. Feb. 22, 1807, Ruth Gris-<br />

wold, born Aug. 23, 1790, died Oct. 28, 1856, daugh-<br />

ter <strong>of</strong> Ezra and Ruth (Roberts) Griswold <strong>of</strong> Simsbury.<br />

He removed to Worthington, Ohio, and d. June 5,<br />

1857, aged 75.<br />

iii. BEULAir, b. April 6, 1784; m. Sept., 1801, at Suffield,<br />

Ct., Dr. J. H. Hills, and removed to Ohio, d. June 29,<br />

186(),'agcd 82.<br />

iv. Betsey, b. June 22, 1786 ; went to Montague, Mass.,<br />

'<br />

with her fa<strong>the</strong>r, m. at Columbus, Ohio, April 17, 1817,<br />

<strong>John</strong> Wallace. After his death she m. 2d, Hand-<br />

ley. She d. Aug. 15, 1856.<br />

V. Cynthia, b. Feb. 20, 1788 ; m. April 18, 1818, Elipha-<br />

Ict Bunker <strong>of</strong> Worthington, Ohio ; m. 2(1, Piimey,<br />

and lived in Columbus, Ohio, d. Jan. 1, 1867.<br />

vi. Catharine, b. June 8, 1790 ; m. Nov. 24, 1813, Romeo<br />

BVancis, b. May 30, 1790, died March 80, 1849, son <strong>of</strong><br />

James and Sylvia (Stanley) Francis <strong>of</strong> New Britain.<br />

He was in early life a school-master and farmer. She<br />

d. Feb. 26, 1867, in New York,<br />

vii. Jesse, b. Oct. 28, 1792; m. Jan. 11, 1818, Sarah Alvord<br />

<strong>of</strong> Greenfield, Mass., born Jan. 27, 1796. He<br />

died Feb. 23, 1866.<br />

viii. Nancy, b. Feb. 4, 1796 ; m. March 8, 1818, Thomas<br />

Russell <strong>of</strong> Doerficld, Mass.; m. 2d, Dec. 26, 1841,<br />

<strong>John</strong> Ortt <strong>of</strong> Greenfield, Mass.
