1802 ; m. Nov., 1821, Mark Hopkins Sibley, born 1796 in<br />

Great Barrington, Mass., removed to Canandaigua, N. Y., in<br />

1814, and became a distinguished lawyer; was in <strong>the</strong> N. Y.<br />

Assembly in 1835 and 1836; in Congress in 1837-9 ; State<br />

senator in 1840-1, and elected county judge and surrogate <strong>of</strong><br />

Ontario county in 1847 ;<br />

died at Canandaigua, N. Y., Sept. 8,<br />

1852. His wife died May, 1876. Their children were:<br />

i. Mary Hopkins, b. Sept., 1822; m. Sept., 1844, Job n<br />

Ganson, born in Leroy, N. Y. ; graduated at Harvard<br />

College in 1839 ; removed to Buffalo at <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 30 ;<br />

was a prominent lawyer, and in 1862-3 a State senator;<br />

died at Buffalo Sept. 28, 1874, aged 57. His wife is<br />

living,<br />

ii. <strong>John</strong> <strong>Clark</strong>, b. May 6, 1824 ; m. Nov., 1856, Mary Y.<br />

Gibson, daughter <strong>of</strong> Henry B. Gibson <strong>of</strong> Canandaigua,<br />

N. Y. She died October, 1865.<br />

iii. Emily Ward, b. October 28, 1848 ; d. October 20, 1856.<br />
