New Britain on petitioii to <strong>the</strong> Legislature by Dan <strong>Clark</strong> and<br />

o<strong>the</strong>rs in <strong>the</strong> year 1859. He was a farmer, a colonel <strong>of</strong><br />

cavalry in <strong>the</strong> State militia <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conn</strong>ecticut, and, during <strong>the</strong><br />

latter part <strong>of</strong> his life in New Britain, a noted mover <strong>of</strong> build-<br />

ings. He removed to Boonsboro, Boone Co., Iowa, in <strong>the</strong><br />

year 1868, where he has been a deacon, a Sunday-school<br />

superintendent, and is still, though far advanced in years,<br />

engaged in <strong>the</strong> business <strong>of</strong> moving buildings.<br />
