The MFP is within the known geographic and elevation range of this species. This
species was not observed during the TERR 2 special-status plant surveys. However,
this species may occur along Project streams and bypass reaches.
MINGAN MOONWORT (BOTRYCHIUM MINGANENSE; FSS)
Mingan moonwort occurs in mesic areas in lower and upper montane coniferous forest,
moist riparian areas, and meadows and seeps from 4,000 to 6,700 feet msl. The MFP
is within the known geographic and elevation range of this species. This species was
not observed during the TERR 2 special-status plant surveys. However, this species
may occur along Project streams and bypass reaches.
MOUNTAIN MOONWORT (WESTERN GOBLIN) (BOTRYCHIUM MONTANUM; FSS)
Mountain moonwort occurs in lower and upper montane coniferous forests and
meadows and seeps from 4,500 to 7,000 feet msl. The MFP is within the known
geographic and elevation range of this species. This species was not observed during
the TERR 2 special-status plant surveys.
BRANDEGEE’S CLARKIA (CLARKIA BILOBA SSP. BRANDEGEEAE; FSS)
This species’ habitat is chaparral, cismontane woodland, and it often occurs in roadcuts.
It grows from 950 to 3,200 feet msl. The MFP is within the known geographic and
elevation range of this species, though it was not observed during the TERR 2 specialstatus
plant surveys. This species is known to occur in the vicinity of the MFP, although
it was not observed in the TERR 2 special-status plant study area. It has been
documented by CNDDB in rocky, upland areas along the MFAR river canyon.
BOLANDER’S BRUCHIA (BRUCHIA BOLANDERI; FSS)
Bolander’s bruchia is an ephemeral moss of alpine or high montane meadows (Norris
2001). This species is endemic to meadows of the Sierra Nevada (Clines 2001). It
occurs in mixed coniferous forests on vertical banks of streams, meadows, seeps, and
fens in damp soils from 5,000 to 7,500 feet msl (Clines 2001). The MFP is within the
known geographic and elevation range of this species, though it was not observed
during the TERR 2 special-status plant surveys.
PLEASANT VALLEY MARIPOSA LILY (CALOCHORTUS CLAVATUS VAR. AVIUS; FSS)
Pleasant Valley mariposa lily occurs in openings, often south-facing slopes and
ridgetops, of lower montane coniferous forests with Josephine silt loam and volcanic
soils from 1,000 to 6,300 feet msl. The MFP is within the known geographic and
elevation range of this species. This species was not observed during the TERR 2
special-status plant surveys.
