4.3 Effective sensing area<br />

Note: The S20 (2m) <strong>Capacitive</strong> WIM sensor has an effective sensing (active) area <strong>of</strong><br />

1815 mm. The S15 (1,5m) sensor has an effective sensing area <strong>of</strong> 1380 mm. This<br />

should be taken into account when planning where to position the sensor.<br />

The possibility <strong>of</strong> a smaller vehicle straddling the sensor in such a manner that both<br />

wheels are on the sensor should be considered when designing the sensor<br />

configuration and placement.<br />
