İt was aimed to investigate possibilities for using <strong>of</strong> covered plants for control <strong>of</strong> the<br />
problematic weeds in apple orchards in Southern Marmara Region, in addition, to evaulate chemical<br />
<strong>and</strong> physical changes in soil, Whether it is different with respect to soil humidity or not, <strong>and</strong> in<br />
terms <strong>of</strong> productivity with this study.<br />
Study was conducted as Red fescue, (Festuca rubra L.), White Clover (Trifolium repens L.),<br />
Subterranean clover (Trifolium subterraneum L.), Bentgrass (Agrostis tenuis Sibth. ), 2 tillage,<br />
chemical, <strong>and</strong> control plots in apple orchards having about 4 years old plants in Atatürk Central<br />
Horticultural Research Institute<br />
It was evaluated exchanges in the soil <strong>and</strong> plant flora, weed <strong>and</strong> covered plant densities,<br />
different in the quantity <strong>of</strong> irrigation <strong>and</strong> exchanges in fruit yield <strong>and</strong> quality components in every<br />
covered plant species plots. Additionally, it has been investigated the economical aspect <strong>of</strong> covered<br />
plant using for weed controlling in the different fruit orchards, in a way that was transferred into<br />
practice
