pay, for example by increasing the number of care
providers and career paths.
A school which sees all its children in time
High quality of schooling depends on teachers and other
school staff having time for their pupils. The number of
children per adult in pre-school education and school
has increased as a result of the spending cuts of the 1990s.
More adults are needed so as to create smaller groups
and make more time for addressing the needs of each
individual child. If the staff have more time to look at
each individual, bullying, truancy and disruptive
environments in schools and pre-school education can
be combated.
The right to choose a school is an obvious democratic
principle in a pluralistic society. Independent schools,
therefore, must have their natural place in the school
system and be given support equivalent to that received
by municipal schools.
A modern apprenticeship system will be established,
in which theory alternates with on-the-job learning
throughout the training period and in close partnership
with local business enterprise. Completion of upper
secondary school studies shall be an available option up
to age 25.
The future demands growing businesses
and a flourishing economy
A dynamic entrepreneur climate of diversity and
competitive strength gives people’s entrepreneurship
and ideas the chance of blossoming and bringing the
whole of Sweden to life. The framing of enterprise policy
must be shaped by the conditions and needs of small and
medium-sized enterprises. Our neglected infrastructure
must be upgraded.
One basic precondition of a human market economy
is the maintenance of gender equality and of norms such
as honesty and personal assumption of responsibility.
The role of the state and the EU as supervisors, judges
and norm-creators for the establishment of good ethics
in the economic sphere is of the utmost importance.
