policy and supports small green parties in order to
strengthen the green political movement in Europe as a
whole. A Green Baltic Sea Network has been set up
within the European Greens for co-operation on energy,
the Baltic Sea environment, traffic and EU enlargement.
The European Greens is one of the Founding Federations
of the Global Greens. The Global Greens is the network
of green parties and green political movements from
Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Green
parties from more than 70 countries took part in the first
Global Greens Congress in Canberra, in April 2001.

The politics of the Green Party are based on a fourfold
solidarity:
v solidarity with animals, the nature and the ecosystem,
v solidarity with future generations,
v solidarity with the peoples of the world,
v solidarity with people in our own country.
We have fresh ideas and question the current societal
structure. We therefore challenge many strong forces that
use people and the environment for short-term economic
profit. The current development of society is a dead end.
Both our common environment and we human beings
are worn down. Stress in society affects the ecological
system, as well as ourselves and our children . The policy
of the Green Party offers a way out of stress, ill-health,
over-consumption and pollution. Our aim is a society
in balance with nature, where everybody’s resources and
opportunities are made use of.
The Green Party is part of a growing international
green movement. Our roots can be found in the popular
movements involved in environmental issues, animal
rights, ill-health, anti-discrimination, global solidarity
and peace. We focus on the quality of life! We believe in
