30. Cancel Third World debts
and increase development assistance
Sweden must act vigorously, both at home and at
international level, for increased development assistance
and debt relief. As a first step, Sweden should increase
its development assistance to 1% of GNP.
31. Strengthen the work against discrimination
and racism
We want to unite the different laws on discrimination
into a single law on human rights. We want to establish
a national anti-racist centre and support local integration
centres.
32. Sex, power and gender
Efforts to break the traditional pattern of gender power
must be encouraged. Gender discrimination should also
be banned outside working life and in higher education.
33. Lowered voting age
We want to lower the voting age and the age qualification
for eligibility to 16 years.
34. Local binding referenda
More referenda will give citizens more opportunities of
influence and will strengthen democracy.
35. More power to the municipalities
We do not want any more restrictions on municipal selfgovernment.
We want to work for more resources to be
given to the municipalities, in order for them to assume
responsibility for schools and care.
36. Stop the constitutional amendment
on the European Union!
We say No to the proposed constitutional amendment
whereby the government will be allowed to hand over
power to the EU without any prior decisions in the
Riksdag.
37. No to the EMU
Swedish crowns – yes! Euro – no! We can handle
democracy, welfare and jobs better outside the EMU.
