Bo Lundgren MP, Chairman of the Moderate Party of Sweden, former Minister for Fiscal and Financial Affairs Born 11th July 11, 1947 in Kristianstad, Sweden B.Sc. in Business Administration, University of Lund Family Wife Charlotte, née Hagren, son Henrik, born 1997, and daughter Katarina, born 2000 Politics Since his election to the Riksdag in 1976, Bo Lundgren has mainly worked with taxation and economic policy on the committees on taxation and finance and on several governmental committees. He was deputy member of the Board of Governors of the Swedish Central Bank (the Riksbank) in the mid-eighties. In 1991, he was appointed Minister for Fiscal and Financial Affairs, and as such was responsible for bringing Sweden out of the deep crisis in the financial sector after the speculation bubble of the eighties. After leaving government in 1994, Bo Lundgren returned to the Riksdag and became party spokesman on economic affairs. In 1999, he was elected Chairman of the Moderate Party, which is the main opposition party in Sweden. 75
