(i) Students with special needs in Secondary Schools<br />

- Boys = 9<br />

- Girls = 19<br />

Total = 28<br />

- In view of the information given above, <strong>Meru</strong> <strong>South</strong> <strong>District</strong> deserves assistance,<br />

especially for Igamba Ng’ombe division, which is arid. There are also other<br />

pockets of poverty in the <strong>District</strong>. Most of the schools do not have the required<br />

physical facilities.<br />

- Transition from primary to Secondary and Tertiary level is low.<br />

- <strong>Environment</strong>al Education currently is not fully emphasised. There is therefore<br />

need to introduce <strong>Environment</strong>al Education for sustainable development.<br />

Proposed Intervention:<br />

1) All Schools have worked out their school action plans and budget with a view<br />

to secure funding from the GOK through KESSP 5 years plan.<br />
