plans to eventually expand the line into women’s
suits, jackets, blouses and multi-wear pieces,
kika villareal debuts for fall
Not every woman in built like a lingerie model
and while each style on the market looks perfect
in the catalogues, it does not always look the
same once it gets home. With this in mind,
Katherin Bastidas-Ansink and her husband,
Jeroen Ansink set out to launch Kika Villareal.
Kika Villareal’s ideal
customer has, “a
Mediterranean body
type.” Drawing from
Bastidas-Ansink’s
Columbia roots, Kika
Villareal caters to shorter
Katherin Bastidas-
Ansink
women with a real body.
The line marries old
world beauty with urban
culture for the best of both worlds.
“I wanted to create
products that drew attention
to real things and at
the same time is sexy,”
said Bastidas-Ansink.
“Women want to wear
lingerie that is rock star
Jeroen Ansink sexy.”
While the line draws
inspiration from the European culture and Latina
America, Kika Villareal is made to fit every
woman. A French knicker offers just the right
amount of European flair and will not cut or dig
in and the Rosalinda is a soft cup bra that is made
from rigid lace that provides support, while still
maintaining a sexy style. Each look in the line is
designed to emulate the lingerie that Bastidas-
Ansink bought while visiting France as a young
girl. “I have created styles I could not find in the
states with a fit that I want.” — L.D.
