U.S. patent approval. The

was shown at the recent
Lingerie Americas trade
Gregory Gimble show in New York City.

and the company opened a new factory in

spanx shapes up for spring
This spring, Spanx is entering a new category in
the lingerie department with its new Bra-Llelujah!.
The Bra-
Llelujah! is the
second bra the
company has
introduced but
the first to make
its way into the
foundations
category.
The bra features
front closure,
molded
cups and comfort
straps for
support and
coverage. This
“ultimate t-shirt
bra” will be the first Spanx product to venture from
the shapewear department, and it will be sold on a
hanger instead of in packaging.
The spring also welcomes Spanx’s first foray into
the thong market. The company is introducing the
Hide & Sleek Hi-Rise Panty with Thong Back, as
well as the Hide & Sleek Bodysuit with Thong
Back.
Spanx is also introducing a few styles with ultimate-shaping
capabilities. The Slim Cognito
Body-Shaping Cami offers a high level of compression
in zones to smooth the back and minimize
the midriff. The Slim Cognito Body-Shaping

Cami is also available in a strapless style.
Additionally, Spanx has expanded its size range
in the hosiery category in order to provide more

aristoc and gok wan team up
Hosiery manufacturer Aristoc and fashion guru
Gok Wan have combined efforts to relaunch the
company’s Bodytoners range of hosiery. With the
collection, Aristoc has targeted problem areas for
women including the waist, tummy, hips, thighs
and other areas that might be in need of smoothing
and toning.
“Every woman has an area of her body that she’s
not happy with but with Aristoc Bodytoners, there’s
a product to combat those problem areas, giving you
a smoother, slimmer silhouette in just a few
moments,” said Gok Wan.
Some of the company’s new products include a
waistband-free waist and tummy smoother; an
hourglass toner that defines the waist; toner
shorts; a sheer invisible toner that extends from
the waist to the toes.
Each product in the collection is made with flatfinished
seams, smoother, sleeker yarns and a silk
finish that naturally moisturizes the skin during

Made by Niki, known for its numbered limitededition
lingerie is now offering shapewear. The
new label, which includes light fabrics, is called
Fresh Foundations.
“Fresh Foundations is a concept, not a collection,
and with each new twist, women will be
shown new ways to show off their silhouette,”
said Niki McMorrough, director of Made by Niki
& Niki Lingerie.
For spring and summer, the company offers 6
core garments in 30 different sizes; moreover,
each piece of the collection comes in 5 plain or
lacy color options including ivory, rose, violet and

its line of shapewear for the spring 2008 season.
One of the
highlights in
the new collection
is a nowire
contour
bra. The bra
has a unique
laser-cut trim
and is lightly
padded to
shape and contour

The new style
offers women a
stylish option
that provides all
day comfort. The bra is available in white, honey
and black, in sizes 32A-38C.
The Quebec-based manufacturer has also introduced
its new Lifestyle collection of bras. These
bras are made from lightly cushioned “3D” fabric
that contour the breast as well as provide support.
Grenier bra offer ultimate fit that is based on 15
years of development and span four generations of
owners. “Our shapewear collection is based on
something pretty,” said Lisa Ceccucci, export sales
development manager. “Our garments incorporate
