Max E. GEIGER, 75, of 442 S. Ohio St., Culver, died at 7 a.m. Monday at the Highland<br />

Regional Meical Center, Sebring, Fla.<br />

He was born Jan. 31, 1916 at Crown Point to Homer and Elsie SEIBOLDT GEIGER, and<br />

moved from Markle to Culver in 1939. On Feb. 24, 1940 at Crown Point he married LaVerne E.<br />

HINELINE, who survives. He was a member of Culver Grace United Church of Christ and the<br />

Fathers’ Auxiliary of the Culver VFW Post. He retired in 1976 after 40 years’ service as a station<br />

master on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, last serving in Akron.<br />

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Dennis and Michael [GEIGER], both of Culver;<br />

four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Preceding in death were five brothers and a<br />

granddaughter.<br />

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Culver Masonic Cemetery with the<br />

Rev. Donald WAGNER officiating. Memorials may be made to the Culver Grace United Church<br />

of Christ or to the Culver VFW Post. <strong>The</strong> Bonine Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of<br />

arrangements.<br />

Rev. Maurice B. Kent<br />

Rev. Maurice B. KENT, 76, 18186 Cedar Road, Tippecanoe, died at 1:10 a.m. today at<br />

Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth. He had been ill for seven months.<br />

He was born May 28, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo., to Oran F. and Letha BROWER KENT.<br />

On Nov. 19, 1934, he married Dorothy O. MYERS, who survives. He had lived in this area for<br />

the past 33 years, having come from West Lebanon.<br />

He was a minister at these churches: Church of the Nazarene, West Lebanon, for 7 a/2<br />

years; Morris Chapel in Warsaw for 7 1/2 years; the First Church of the Nazarene, <strong>Rochester</strong>, for<br />

13 1/2 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the<br />

Plymouth First Church of the Nazarene.<br />

He was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University magna cum laude and Ball State<br />

University. He was also a school teacher for several years.<br />

Surviving with his wife is one daughter, Mrs. Rick (Donna Jane) HONECUTT, Silver<br />

Lake; a son, Stephen J. [KENT], Tippecanoe; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene, <strong>Rochester</strong>, with<br />

the Revs. Richard THOMPSON and Richard JORDAN officiating. Burial wil be in the<br />

Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe.<br />

Friends may call at the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and at<br />

the church one hour prior to services Saturday.
