Dear Uncle Calvin: Sorry that Aunt Meta died. I am very sad. You were like my<br />

grandparents when I visited Wisconsin and I am going to miss my Wisconsin<br />

Grandmother very much. I am so sorry.<br />

Adolph L. Franz Obituary (1967)<br />

Adolph Ludwig Franz, son <strong>of</strong> the late August K. and Alvina Noah Franz was born<br />

March 10, 1896, in the Town <strong>of</strong> Warner, <strong>Clark</strong> <strong>County</strong>. Here he grew to manhood<br />

receiving his education in the Decker School and later became a cheesemaker in<br />

this community.<br />

He was called into the service <strong>of</strong> his country during World War I and served<br />

overseas. On his return, he and his brother Fred took up farming at Sidney, Mont.<br />

until July 1946 when he was stricken with a stroke that left him a wheel chair<br />

patient for the rest <strong>of</strong> his life. He passed away at the Greenwood Nursing <strong>Home</strong>,<br />
