Quietus, Mont, and Theodore, whose home is in McMinnville, Ore. They also have 16 grandchildren.
Two sons, Oscar and Edwin, live in Greenwood and a third, Leondo, resides at Owen. Their daughters
are Mrs. Henry (Minnie) Laube, Mrs. Harvey (Martha) Schwarze, and Mrs. Dave (Selma) Churkey,
Owen; Mrs. Theodore (Arvilla) Wessel and Mrs. Mike (Meta) Bolf, Greenwood.

Carl August Franz Decendants
Henry Franz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Franz, was born in Franklin, (Sheboygan Co.) Wis. on
October 13, 1873 and came to Greenwood when he was 11 years old. He was a carpenter before his
marriage. In April 1898, he was united in marriage to Augusta Decker and they settled on a farm 4 1/2
miles northwest of Greenwood and lived there until 1945 when he retired from farming and has been
residng with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bolf.
At one time he held the office of assessor, and was a member of the Warner Town Board. He helped
construct the West Side Church and schoolhouse. Surviving besides his widow are 10 children, Mrs.
Henry (Minnie) Laube, Mrs. Harvey (Martha) Schwarze, and Mrs. Dave (Selma) Churkey, all of Owen;
Mrs. Theodore (Arvilla) Wessle and Mrs. Mike (Meta) Bolf, Greenwood; Theodore, McMinnville,
Oreg.; Emil, Quietus, Mont.; and Oscar, Edwin and Leondo, all of Greenwood. Other survivors are 17
grandchildren a great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Abel, Willard. Two borthers, August and
Wm., and a sister, Mrs. Kippenhand, proceded him in death . The Franzes had observed their golden
wedding anniversary in 1948.
Mr. Franz passed away at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bolf on Sunday,
June 26, 1949. He has been in poor health since he suffered a stroke in March.
