five minutes can be carried over to the second five<br />

minutes.<br />

D. When ties can not be broken and there are not playoff slots to accommodate<br />

all the teams that are tied, the teams shall meet in a Mini-game<br />

Tiebreaker as follows:<br />

1. The games will consist of two five-minute halves.<br />

2. The play begins for the first half with a free kick, and standard game<br />

rules and scoring are used<br />

3. There will be a two-minute intermission between the two halves.<br />

4. Play begins for the second half with a free kick.<br />

5. Each team will be given one additional timeout for each half plus any<br />

unused timeouts from the second half of regulation play.<br />

6. All unused time outs from the first half may be carried over to the<br />

second half.<br />

7. If the score is tied at the end of two overtime periods, the teams will<br />

go to the GHSA 15-yard overtime procedure rather than determining<br />

the outcome by advancement yardage.<br />

E. When teams play a mini-game tiebreaker on a Monday, their first round<br />

playoff game will be scheduled for the following Saturday unless both<br />

schools agree to play on Friday.<br />

STATE PLAYOFFS:<br />

A. Playoff brackets for football are rotated every two years.<br />

B. All rounds of games after the end of the regular season are considered<br />

part of the state playoff structure.<br />

1. In the First Round, Second Round, Quarterfinals, and Finals the<br />

higher seeded team will host.<br />

2. In the case of two teams with the same seed, the (H) printed in the<br />

playoff brackets will be the host school. The (H) is rotated each year.<br />

3. The home or host team will designate the site of the game.<br />

4. Game date and time will be set by mutual agreement. If that<br />

agreement is not possible, the GHSA Executive Director will finalize<br />

the arrangements. If an administrator does not attend the meeting<br />

at which the playoff contract is negotiated, the coach shall be<br />

authorized by the Principal to negotiate and sign a binding contract.<br />

5. A team qualifying for the state playoffs by winning a tie-breaker minigame<br />

on Monday would play on Saturday in the opening round of<br />

the state playoffs unless both teams agree to play on Friday.<br />

C. All semifinal games will be played November 26 and 27, in the <strong>Georgia</strong><br />

Dome.<br />

1. The admission fee will be $15.00 each day, and there will be no<br />

discounted presale tickets.<br />

2. Admission will be allowed with a Dome ticket or a GHSA pass only.<br />

EXCEPTION: Valid GHSA media credentials<br />

3. The expense and revenue shares by classification will be as follows:<br />

AAAAA-27%, AAAA-24%, AAA-20%, AA-16%, A-13%
