(c) The GHSA Executive Director has the authority to approve<br />
competition between GHSA schools and private schools<br />
from states in which membership in the State <strong>Association</strong><br />
is not allowed. These non-member schools must meet or<br />
exceed the State <strong>Association</strong> standards in order to compete<br />
with GHSA schools.<br />
(d) A member school shall have no more than one varsity, one<br />
junior varsity, and one 9th grade team.<br />
(1) Any sub-varsity team is limited to a maximum number of<br />
games equal to 70% of the varsity allotment in that sport.<br />
EXCEPTION: New schools with grades 9 and 10 only with<br />
JV teams only may play varsity number allowed.<br />
(2) Sub-varsity competitors must meet all eligibility rules with<br />
the exception of the migratory rule.<br />
2.63 Written contracts are required for all football and basketball<br />
contests, and are strongly recommended in all other interscholastic<br />
contests that are scheduled between member schools.<br />
(a) Contract forms can be found in the “GHSA Forms Notebook.”<br />
(b) Contracts are also recommended for all sub-varsity contests.<br />
(c) GHSA-member schools are expected to fulfill the conditions<br />
of any game contract that has been properly executed.<br />
(1) Exceptions to the contract may be made with the agreement<br />
and consent of both schools.<br />
(2) Member schools who fail to fulfill the requirements of a<br />
scheduled event may be required to make restitution to<br />
the competing schools after a hearing by the GHSA<br />
Executive Director.<br />
(3) <strong>School</strong>s failing to fulfill a game contract shall be suspended<br />
in that sport for one (1) full calendar year or the<br />
corresponding date of the next calendar year, whichever<br />
is greater.<br />
(4) EXCEPTION: The GHSA Executive Director may excuse<br />
the failure to fulfill a game contract if, in his opinion, the<br />
circumstances causing the failure were outside the control<br />
of the school officials.<br />
(5) Either school involved in the event shall have the right to<br />
video tape and copy said tape, but no third party shall<br />
have that right, not even the videographer.<br />
(d) Forfeiture and Restitution Policy<br />
(1) If a team does not arrive at the game site for any contest<br />
without notifying the host opponent of a late arrival, that<br />
contest will be forfeited 30 minutes after the scheduled<br />
game-time. If the second game or contest was to be<br />
played by a different team, then a decision to forfeit that<br />
game will be made 30 minutes after the scheduled<br />
beginning of the second game.<br />
EXAMPLE: girl/boy or JV/varsity combination events.<br />
(2) If there are to be multiple games by the same team and<br />
the team does not arrive at the game site without notifying<br />
the host opponent of a late arrival, all games will be
