Routine construction<br />
- Where there are options for individual skills, each member of the pair / group may<br />
select different skills.<br />
- All members of the pair / group must perform their individual skills<br />
simultaneously or in immediate succession.<br />
- Routines must start from a static position and end in a static position.<br />
- The maximum duration of each routine is 2½ minutes. There is no minimum<br />
duration.<br />
Music<br />
- Music must be provided on CDs.<br />
- CDs and jewel cases must be clearly marked with the following details:<br />
o Competitor names<br />
o Representing e.g. State or Club<br />
o Level e.g. Level 1<br />
o Event e.g. Pair<br />
o Routine e.g. Balance<br />
- For CDs:<br />
o The CD can only contain music for one pair or one group.<br />
o Each CD must only contain 1 track of music, with separate CDs for<br />
Balance and Dynamic music clearly named as above.<br />
o There must be no more than a 2 second silent lead in and lead out of the<br />
track.<br />
o A backup CD should be present at competitions. This disc may contain all<br />
of the pair/group music tracks.<br />
- If more than 1 pair / group use the same music, then each pair / group must have<br />
their own copy of the music.<br />
- Music must not contain words. Voice may be used as an instrument.<br />
Skills<br />
- Turns on one foot (pirouettes) may be executed from standing, step or lunge, and<br />
may be performed in either direction.<br />
- For each element omitted, the value of the skill will be deducted.<br />
- Hold times are detailed in pictures and text. A momentary hold is detailed in the<br />
glossary.<br />
Symbols<br />
- 1” - Length of holds are denoted in seconds (1 second)<br />
- - Direction of travel or twist (upward)<br />
- 360º - Numbers describe the amount of twist (full rotation)<br />
- 4/4 - Fractions describe the amount of rotation of a skill (full sault)<br />
