ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because
the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who
don't believe in magic will never find it.”
The Minpins, Roald Dahl,
Firstly and most importantly I would like to thank my supervisor Professor
Howard Chivers for providing support, sanity and guidance throughout what has
been an amazing journey. I’d also like to thank all the members of my thesis
committee (Professor Peter Hill, Dr Mike Edwards, Dr Phil Noble and Professor
Tony Sammes) for their support.
The Centre for Forensic Computing has provided me with so many
opportunities to learn and develop over the past few years that I would like to
thank every member of the team for their kindness. In particular thank you to Dr
Chris Hargreaves for always encouraging me to try harder, providing a
sounding board and being a good friend.
Thank you to my grandparents: Betty and the late Eric Morris who have
provided so much love and support throughout the years, also Reginald and
Pauline Dixon. Thank you to my Uncle Tony Dixon, who has always been
supportive and there when needed.
Thank you also to my parents who have patiently listened to my career
aspirations for the last two decades and have provided support as I continue up
the academic ladder. Thank you to my sister Poppy who being practically
perfect is always on hand to offer her wisdom, love and support.
