Both of them were sort of deep ecologists. Echidnas are active by day and Pete Hay sees them off and on. Platypus he never sees. Tasmanian devils are mostly around campgrounds at night. They are black and their eyes don't reflect light, and they are hard to see at night. August 3, Saturday. Got rental car, a rainy morning. Walked to the car rental at a gas station in the rain. Night ride, with John Hamilton, director of the Tasmanian Devil Park.
