Carl Lourens, pastor of the Dutch Reformed Church here. There is an Interdenominational Church
that meets in the same building at a different time on Sunday.
Johan left Cleve Cheney with three or four of my articles, including the Callicott debate on
wilderness, Value in Nature, and Feeding People vs. Saving Nature, also some ISEE material. He
gave a summary of human-scale development. I discovered that Philosophy Gone Wild and
Environmental Ethics were in the library, already autographed and donated by someone to them.
I autographed them again, at their request.
Pretoria Technikon, a school that has two academic years and one year in the field, a technical
college, and then gives a "diploma" not a degree. But this is changing and the technikons will be
giving a B. Tech degree, perhaps with three years and one year in the field. Technikon South
Africa.

At a lake, the Lower Sabie Dam site, as far down as we got. We were headed toward Lower Sabie,
but were running out of time, and stayed here rather than going into town.
