The Sulaymaniah Museum, the second largest museum in Iraq, will welcome the general public to a series of<br />
special events promoting Kurdish and Iraqi culture as expressed through the Sulaymaniah Museum and its<br />
schaeological collections. This is the first time the museum has used International Museum Day to promote<br />
the museum, its place in society and its relationship with the international museum community. A special<br />
educational programme for children is planned as well as a presentation of folk music and native Kurdish dress.<br />

The Negev Museum of Art which resides in a listed<br />
picturesque Ottoman building (Governor's Mansion) in the<br />
old city section of the capital of the Negev, Beer Sheva, offers<br />
a new exhibition "Southern Spirit: Aspects of the Negev in<br />
Contemporary Israeli Art" showing paintings, photographs<br />
and video art from 1990 to 2010 by internationally famed<br />
artists along with younger artists.<br />
The museum is open 10:00 to 16:00 - admission free on IMD.<br />
