On the occasion of International Museum Day 2011, the Jeanne
d’Albret museum, history of Protestantism in the Bearn region, is
opening up its bookbinding workshop, which is usually closed to the
public. Situated at the heart of the museum’s library, the workshop
who work to safeguard the many books that are part of the Jeanne
d’Albert museum’s collections. Come and discover the different
stages of bookbinding: racking, backing, notching, etc. The voluntary
workers will tell you all about the art of bookbinding and will be
delighted to answer your questions.
