Covrnge by VOA Thai Sprvice of the That<br />

Trade and Investmen, Mission to US<br />

On several occasions during 1968 from April 27 through about May 10,<br />

items concerning the Thai Trade and Investment Mission were carried<br />

in the regular VOA Thai News Broadcast.<br />

These items were given priority because of the Prime Minister's visit<br />

to the United States and the close partnership between Thailand and<br />

the United States.<br />

On April 27--carried special concerning the Thai Trade and<br />

Investment Mission visit coupled with the Prime Minister's<br />

visit to the U.S. The program was called "Progress Through<br />

Cooperation."<br />

On April 30--carried special interview with Paul Sithi-Amnui,<br />

Vice President of Bengkok Bank Ltd. in New York on objectives<br />

of the Thai Trade and Investment Mission in the U.S. The interview<br />

was done by a VOA man in New York at the request of the<br />

Thai Service here.<br />

On May 2--progrnm entitled "The American Sc4ne." l}Hd a stnt'-men,<br />

from uhe Thai Ambassador to the U.S., which dealt largely with<br />

the Thai Mission group visit.<br />

On May 4--dpvoted complete back half of half hour program to<br />

interviews with Dr. Amnuny Viravnn and Suriyon Raiva from Chlcngo.<br />

On May 6--carried special concerning the Prime Minister's spr'ci].<br />

before the Far East America Economic Industrial Council donling<br />

partially with the Thai Mission to the U.S.<br />

On May 7--had special feed from N.Y. by one of the Thai Sorvicn,<br />

staff on the Prime Minister's special before the AMA. Also had<br />

wrap-up of the AMA Seminar concerning Thniland.<br />
