The above listing contains the names cf all of the persons<br />

who accompanied the Mission throughout the United States, except<br />

that the U.S. Government and CIPM representatives did not accompany<br />

the group to Hawaii.<br />

In addition, there were several others<br />

who joined the Mission at various points. For example, in New<br />

York, the Thai Ambassador, The Prime Minister, the Minister of<br />

National Development, and the Thai Consul General in Toronto<br />

attended the AMA Seminar. CIPM escort officers accompanied the<br />

group on visits to Chicago and New York only.<br />

For the purposes of registration at the Seminar, only the<br />

non-resident Thai members on the above list were used. A single<br />

lump sum fee was charged by AMA for these Thai Mission members.<br />

The Board of Investment had printed in Bangkok a very attractive<br />

pocket-size folding brochure with the names of the Mission<br />

members and their photographs. These brochures were given to<br />

American businessmen and were of great help in identifying the<br />

Thai.<br />

PROGRAM CONCEPT:<br />

Shortly after the A.M.A. invitation to Dr. Amnuay to speak<br />

in New York (issued about January 1968), the visit to the United<br />

States by the Thai Prime Minister became firm and Dr. Amnuay<br />

wanted to capitalize on the anticipated favorable publicity<br />

surrounding his Prime Minister's visit.<br />

encouragement of the USOM/Bangkok, he proceeded to organize an<br />
