The itinerary was approved by Dr. Amnuay but evidently the<br />

individual team members were never consulted. It was not until<br />

they arrived in New York on Monday, May 6, that CIPM discovered<br />

there was no enthusiasm on the part of the group to go to Atlanta<br />

and CIPM was unable to make airline reservations until the identity<br />

of the travelers to Atlanta could be established. Paul Sithi-Amnuai<br />

and Dr. Amnuay Viravan (12) agreed to resolve the matter, but<br />

hearing nothing by Wednesday morning, May 8, CIPM called Atlanta<br />

and cancelled the trip. There has been some criticism from the<br />

business c<br />

nity in Atlanta over this cancellation. Paul Sithi-<br />

Amnuai has urfted a letter of apology to the Atlanta group and<br />

sent it to Bangkok with a request that it be sent out over Minister<br />

Pote Sarison's name.<br />

The letter had not been dispatched from<br />

Bangkok at the time or this report.<br />

AMERICAN MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION SPMINAR<br />

According to Dr. Amnuay, A.M.A. had originally asked him to<br />

make a presentation in New York at a Management Seminar. When<br />

Dr. Amnuay was developing his idea for an investment mission he<br />

asked Paul Sithi-Amnuai, representative of Bangkok Bank Ltd. in<br />

New York, to find out whether A.M.A. would be interested in<br />

arranging an investment seminar at the time that would coincide<br />

with the visit of the Thai Prime Minister to New York. The threeday<br />

seminar was scheduled for Monday through Wednesday, May 6-8,<br />

1968. Mohammed Z. Khaiser, an A.M.A. Program Director, was given<br />

the assignment of organizing it. A.M.A. identified it as Briefing<br />
