Radio broadcasting in Brazil.<br />

1927<br />

The Odeon recording company installs the first electric recording system in its studios in Rio de Janeiro.<br />

1930<br />

The decade is known as the “Radio Era”.<br />

1930 to 1945<br />

This period is known as “The Golden Years”. The use of microfone is widespread, and thehistory of Brazilian music,<br />

with 78 rpm records, developed extraordinarily.<br />

1946 to 1957<br />

The golden period of radio broadcasting, audience programs lauching new acts, who became great record sellers. In the<br />

earlt 50s television broadcasts stated.<br />

60s and 70s<br />

The Bossa Nova first appeared, as well as the tropicalist movement and the music festivals. Brazilian records are sold<br />

in Brazil and abroad. Many composers from other regions of the country, other than Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo,<br />

became famous in this period.<br />

1967 to 1980<br />

Record sales increased 385% and the sale of record players rocketed to 813%. The format known in the 50s (the longplay)<br />

continued to be used until the development of the CD in the 80s.<br />

1980s<br />

the CD was launched in 1983 on a worldwide basis. In the early 80s Brazilian rock music was commercially stabel and<br />

it revealed a new generation of artists.<br />

From the 90s to date<br />

Brazilian popular music expands throughout new and diversified genres.
