Purpose built and opened in 2004 Fiordland Cinema was specially constructed to house regular screenings of the
locally filmed movie Ata Whenua- Shadowland. Daily screenings of Ata Whenua, main stream movies and art house
releases are screened, and enjoyed by visitors and locals alike.
Enjoy a glass of wine during the movie and indulge in the comfortable surroundings and plush large seats.
The stylish bar boasts an impressive local wine list and cosy open fire to be enjoyed before and after the movies. An
asset to the township of Te Anau the cinema has seating for 52, enabling a boutique cinema experience for individuals
or small groups.

evocative, exhilarating and utterly spectacular. The large curved screen and digital sound make viewing the journey through one of the
most awe-inspiring landscapes on earth a theatre experience to remember. In addition to the daily screenings of Ata Whenua, we have
mainstream movies and art house releases, with all projection from 35mm film to deliver a high quality image. The cinema is licenced
and has plush seating for 52. Special screenings and private functions can be arranged by appointment.
