Huts must be prebooked between late October and late April (summer season).<br />
Outside the summer season, huts are available to use but are not serviced. Avalanche danger may prevent you<br />
from walking - please enquire at the <strong>Fiordland</strong> National Park Visitor Centre.<br />
Walking the Milford Track requires bus or private transport to Te Anau Downs, then a boat to Glade Wharf at the<br />
head of Lake Te Anau. Boat transport is also required from Sandfly Point, at the end of the track, to Milford Sound.<br />
Transport can be booked through the <strong>Fiordland</strong> National Park Visitor Centre.<br />

Bookings are essential.<br />
Bookings can be made online www.doc.govt.nz or at the <strong>Fiordland</strong> National Park Visitor Centre.<br />
Track may be impassable due to snow/ice or avalanche danger during the winter and spring season.<br />
Outside the summer season, huts are available to use but are not serviced.<br />
During the summer season there are resident Track Rangers, cold running water in huts, gas for cooking, lighting,<br />
heating and flush toilets.<br />
Bunkrooms are communal. Mattresses are provided.<br />
Walkers must supply all food, cooking utensils, eating utensils, sleeping bags and warm clothing.<br />
During the summer season, this trip is 4-day/3-night package from Lake Te Anau to Milford Sound.<br />
The descent from the MacKinnon Pass to the Arthur Valley and Quintin Hut is steep and rocky.<br />
No camping permitted.<br />
Maximum of 40 people per day. Restricted by booking system for those walking the track during late October to<br />
late April. Prior booking is essential. Book early to avoid disappointment<br />
The Milford Track is a Great Walk. Huts cost $45 per person per night<br />
