Event Preview The <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong>, an international exhibition specialized in B2B in the <strong>IT</strong> and convergence fields, will be held at Songdo Convensia, a convention center in Incheon, from Nov. 3 this year for a threeday run. More than 200 <strong>Korea</strong>n and foreign companies are expected to participate in the international event under the slogan, "Experiencing Tomorrow Today, <strong>2010</strong>." The Incheon <strong>IT</strong> Promotion Agency (I<strong>IT</strong>PA) will manage the <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong>, the 9th of its kind, under the joint auspices of the Mini-stry of Knowledge Economy and Incheon Metropolitan City. As the <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong> was selected as the most promising exhibition by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the government will extend various supports for the international event, especially in the overseas marketing sector, including an export consultation meeting for global buyers, an I<strong>IT</strong>PA spokesman said. About 120 buyers form 15 countries are invited to attend the export consultation meeting and engage in in-depth export consultations with <strong>Korea</strong>n <strong>IT</strong> and convergence companies, he said. India Day "In particular, the I<strong>IT</strong>PA will operate 'India Day' on Nov. 5, the last day of the global event, where buyers from India are to meet with <strong>Korea</strong>n counterparts operating small and medium-sized venture companies. Through the event, <strong>Korea</strong>n makers are expected to explore new global markets and secure new export sources with minimum costs," said the spokesman. The I<strong>IT</strong>PA also plans to attract some 500 <strong>Korea</strong>n buyers in the <strong>IT</strong> and convergence fields to the event to help them promote domestic and foreign marketing effects and expand exchanges between industries. "To maximize synergy effects, we also plan to hold a large-scale international conference under the topic of the 'Prospect for the 2011 global <strong>IT</strong> market and strategy for overseas advancement, <strong>IT</strong> hot trends & new biz opportunity' by inviting world famous experts in the relevant sectors," he stated. Besides, the I<strong>IT</strong>PA will operate a variety of special halls, including a u- Game PR Hall, where visitors can see the 2014 Asian Games in advance by using state-of-the-art <strong>IT</strong> technology, Robot Land PR Hall, the first robot theme park in the world; u-City PR Hall, Digital Cable TV PR Hall and an IPTV Experience Hall, the spokesman explained. Other events The agency is also planning to operate an auction house for <strong>IT</strong> goods and other special products produced in Incheon, hold the MBC Game StarCraft Competition and other special performances during the event period. "We are making all-out efforts to maximize marketing effects of small and medium-sized companies in the <strong>IT</strong> and convergence sectors and help them increase their exports through <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong>," he said. Those who hope to participate in the international event are required to make online application through the <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong> homepage (www.itc.or.kr). Those who finish the application by Aug. 20 can get a 40 percent discount in the participation fee of KRW 330,000. Those who attend the global event for the second consecutive year and get recommendation by any of 18 <strong>IT</strong> promotion agencies in the country also can get the discount service. Meanwhile, Incheon-based companies are able to enjoy more favors. For instance, in the case of inviting foreign buyers, they can receive free lodging services, he added.
