Event Preview<br />

The <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong>, an international exhibition<br />

specialized in B2B in the <strong>IT</strong> and<br />

convergence fields, will be held at Songdo<br />

Convensia, a convention center in<br />

Incheon, from Nov. 3 this year for a threeday<br />

run.<br />

More than 200 <strong>Korea</strong>n and foreign<br />

companies are expected to participate in<br />

the international event under the slogan,<br />

"Experiencing Tomorrow Today, <strong>2010</strong>."<br />

The Incheon <strong>IT</strong> Promotion Agency<br />

(I<strong>IT</strong>PA) will manage the <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong>,<br />

the 9th of its kind, under the joint auspices<br />

of the Mini-stry of Knowledge Economy<br />

and Incheon Metropolitan City.<br />

As the <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong> was selected as<br />

the most promising exhibition by the<br />

Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the<br />

government will extend various supports<br />

for the international event, especially in<br />

the overseas marketing sector, including<br />

an export consultation meeting for global<br />

buyers, an I<strong>IT</strong>PA spokesman said.<br />

About 120 buyers form 15 countries are<br />

invited to attend the export consultation<br />

meeting and engage in in-depth export<br />

consultations with <strong>Korea</strong>n <strong>IT</strong> and convergence<br />

companies, he said.<br />

India Day<br />

"In particular, the I<strong>IT</strong>PA will operate<br />

'India Day' on Nov. 5, the last day of the<br />

global event, where buyers from India are<br />

to meet with <strong>Korea</strong>n counterparts operating<br />

small and medium-sized venture companies.<br />

Through the event, <strong>Korea</strong>n makers<br />

are expected to explore new global<br />

markets and secure new export sources<br />

with minimum costs," said the spokesman.<br />

The I<strong>IT</strong>PA also plans to attract some<br />

500 <strong>Korea</strong>n buyers in the <strong>IT</strong> and convergence<br />

fields to the event to help them promote<br />

domestic and foreign marketing effects<br />

and expand exchanges between industries.<br />

"To maximize synergy effects, we also<br />

plan to hold a large-scale international<br />

conference under the topic of the 'Prospect<br />

for the 2011 global <strong>IT</strong> market and strategy<br />

for overseas advancement, <strong>IT</strong> hot trends &<br />

new biz opportunity' by inviting world famous<br />

experts in the relevant sectors," he<br />

stated. Besides, the I<strong>IT</strong>PA will operate a<br />

variety of special halls, including a u-<br />

Game PR Hall, where visitors can see the<br />

2014 Asian Games in advance by using<br />

state-of-the-art <strong>IT</strong> technology, Robot Land<br />

PR Hall, the first robot theme park in the<br />

world; u-City PR Hall, Digital Cable TV<br />

PR Hall and an IPTV Experience Hall,<br />

the spokesman explained.<br />

Other events<br />

The agency is also planning to operate<br />

an auction house for <strong>IT</strong> goods and other<br />

special products produced in Incheon,<br />

hold the MBC Game StarCraft Competition<br />

and other special performances during<br />

the event period.<br />

"We are making all-out efforts to maximize<br />

marketing effects of small and medium-sized<br />

companies in the <strong>IT</strong> and convergence<br />

sectors and help them increase their<br />

exports through <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong>," he said.<br />

Those who hope to participate in the international<br />

event are required to make online<br />

application through the <strong>IT</strong>C Fair <strong>2010</strong><br />

homepage (www.itc.or.kr). Those who<br />

finish the application by Aug. 20 can get a<br />

40 percent discount in the participation fee<br />

of KRW 330,000. Those who attend the<br />

global event for the second consecutive<br />

year and get recommendation by any of<br />

18 <strong>IT</strong> promotion agencies in the country<br />

also can get the discount service. Meanwhile,<br />

Incheon-based companies are able<br />

to enjoy more favors. For instance, in the<br />

case of inviting foreign buyers, they can receive<br />

free lodging services, he added.<br />
