The <strong>City</strong> Clerk coordinates primary, general and special elections. Primary<br />

and general elections are held for Mayor and <strong>City</strong> Council positions. Special<br />

elections are held <strong>to</strong> decide various issues, such as tax propositions, franchises,<br />

charter amendments, and bond issues.<br />

<strong>City</strong> Manager 297-2345<br />

The <strong>City</strong> Manager is appointed by the <strong>City</strong> Council <strong>to</strong> serve as the Chief<br />

Administrative Officer over the <strong>City</strong>’s day-<strong>to</strong>-day operation. The <strong>City</strong> Manager<br />

hires and oversees all <strong>City</strong> employees except those appointed by the <strong>City</strong><br />

Council.<br />

Civic Center Music Hall 297-2584<br />

The Down<strong>to</strong>wn performing arts center includes the Thelma Gaylord Performing<br />

Arts Theatre (2,500 seats); Freede Little Theatre (390 seats); Meinders Hall <strong>of</strong><br />

Mirrors (5300 square-foot hall) and the Joel Levine Rehearsal Hall (3100 square<br />

feet). The Parks Department manages the Music Hall. See Tickets for event and<br />
