(<strong>City</strong> Manager’s Office)<br />
Created <strong>to</strong> promote and encourage the development <strong>of</strong> industry and commerce in<br />
the <strong>City</strong> by providing and managing the physical facilities and services required for<br />
development. The Mayor and Council members serve as trustees.<br />
Fairgrounds Trust 297-2345<br />
(<strong>City</strong> Manager’s Office)<br />
Oversees operations and manages the fairgrounds and all facilities located there. The<br />
seven trustees are the Mayor, two Council members and four citizens appointed by<br />
the Mayor <strong>to</strong> four-year terms. The <strong>City</strong> Manager serves as an advisor but has no<br />
vote. The trustees meet quarterly at 9 a.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room.<br />
Firemen’s Pension Board 297-2391<br />
(<strong>City</strong> Clerk’s Office)<br />
Operates the Firemen’s Retirement System. The Board is composed <strong>of</strong> the Mayor<br />
and three firefighters chosen by ballot by other firefighters. The <strong>City</strong> Clerk serves as<br />
the Board’s Secretary and the <strong>City</strong> Treasurer serves as the treasurer. The Board meets<br />
on the first Monday <strong>of</strong> the month at 10 a.m. in the <strong>City</strong> Clerk’s conference room, 200<br />
N Walker, 2nd floor.<br />
Game and Fish Commission (Parks) 297-3882<br />
Recommends rules and regulations governing fishing, boating, hunting and other<br />
recreation activities <strong>to</strong> the Council; also makes recommendations regarding the<br />
propagation and preservation <strong>of</strong> fish and game in <strong>City</strong> lakes and properties. The nine<br />
Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor <strong>to</strong> four-year terms. The Commission<br />
meets the first Monday <strong>of</strong> the month at the Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center.<br />
Golf Commission (Parks) 297-3882<br />
Oversees the operations, maintenance and construction <strong>of</strong> public golf courses,<br />
facilities and activities. The nine Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor <strong>to</strong><br />
serve seven-year terms. The Commissioners meet the first Wednesday <strong>of</strong> the month<br />
at 11 a.m. at various <strong>City</strong> golf courses.<br />
