PROJECT SPECIAL PROVISIONS – LANDSCAPE PLANTING
This proposal is subject to Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures – 2012 Edition, Section 1060
Landscape Development Materials, Section 1670 Planting Section, 200 Clearing and Grubbing.
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to complete the work of removing,
installing and maintaining plant materials. All equipment must have the manufacturer’s original safety
devices in place. The Project Manager may reject any equipment that is not operating in a satisfactory
manner.
All planting is to be done according to the landscape plans.
NOTIFICATION OF OPERATIONS:
The Contractor shall notify the Town of Kernersville forty-eight (48) hours in advance of beginning work on
this project. The Contractor shall give the Owner sufficient notice of all operations for any sampling,
inspection or acceptance testing required.
PESTISTICIDES
All applications of pesticides shall be made by an individual/company who possesses, or who is in the
presence of an individual who possesses a valid North Carolina Department of Agriculture Commercial
Pesticide Applicator’s License, with a Ground Applicator Classification and a proper endorsement.
REQUIRED REFERENCES:
The Contractor shall list at least three (3) landscape projects successfully completed by his company using
the included “References” form. The Contractor shall provide all information requested on the reference
sheet included.
REQUIRED LIST OF SOURCES:
The Contractor shall provide a list of sources for the plant material and mulch, within seven (7) days after
notice of award. The following information shall be provided:
• source’s name, address, phone number, fax number and contact person
• plant species
• plant quantities
• plant furnish requirements (sizes)
Failure of the Contractor to provide current and verifiable information may result in rescinding the
award of the contract.
The quantity of planting to be paid for will be the actual number of plants of each species and size called
for in the contract planted by the Contractor according to the plans, and/or as directed by the Owner, that
have been accepted by the Owner.
BASIS OF PAYMENT:
The below prices and payments will be full compensation for all work covered by this section, including
but not limited to tilling, excavating, and any other soil preparation and working; removal and disposal of
any undesirable vegetation, furnishing limestone, sod and/or seed, water, pesticides, fertilizer, topsoil,
