lung lobe. This ensures that the skin incision will not<br />

directly overlie the deeper wound and helps to minimise<br />

the possibility <strong>of</strong> pneumothorax. The cutting<br />

stylet <strong>of</strong> the Tru-cut needle is then advanced to cut the<br />

sample and the cover is advanced over the cutting<br />

stylet to retain the biopsy sample. The Tru-cut needle<br />

is then removed. The biopsy is placed in 10% formalsaline<br />

and submitted for histopathology analysis.<br />

Consideration should be given to prophylactic<br />

antibiosis and tetanus antitoxin administration.<br />
