AIRPORT LIGHTING SYSTEMS
PART 1 DESCRIPTION
1.01 GENERAL. This item shall consist of airport lighting systems furnished and installed in accordance
with this specification, the referenced specifications, and the applicable Federal Aviation
Administration Advisory Circulars. The systems shall be installed at the location and in accordance
with the dimensions, layout, design, and details shown in the drawings. This item shall include
furnishing and installing all lights, signs, transformers, bases, mounting assemblies, base plates,
adapter rings, concrete work, sealing filler, adhesive sealant, cable connections, all lamps, ground
rod and inspection pits, testing of the installation and all incidentals and appurtenances necessary to
place the systems in operation as completed units to the satisfaction of the DIA Project Manager.
The contractor shall not place an order for any electrical, lighting, or signing material until specific
approval is received from the DIA Project Manager for each order on an individual basis.
