Entities are recognized at four distinct<br />
levels; Chairman, Business Unit, Director<br />
and Best Practice. The HSE Council also<br />
honored five individuals, including facility<br />
HSE leaders and plant managers, for<br />
their personal efforts to improve safety or<br />
environmental performance.<br />

<strong>Cummins</strong> Health and<br />
Safety Recognition Program<br />
Sites are eligible for Health and Safety<br />
recognition at three performance levels;<br />
Chairman’s Award, Business Unit (BU)<br />
Award and Director’s Award. In addition,<br />
awards are given by the business units<br />
in recognition of Best Practices the sites<br />
have implemented.<br />
The Corporate Health and Safety<br />
Recognition is based upon the following<br />
performance criteria:<br />
Chairman’s Award: To be eligible for<br />
this award, a site must achieve an IR of<br />
0.0 to 0.5 and a minimum CSS Formal or<br />
Verification Audit level 3, with 95 points.<br />
Business Unit Award: To be eligible<br />
for this award, a site must achieve an IR of<br />
0.6 to 1.0 and a minimum CSS Formal or<br />
Verification Audit level 3, with 85 points.<br />
The site may not win this award in successive<br />
years, as we strive for improvements.<br />
Director’s Award: To be eligible for<br />
this award a site must achieve the corporate<br />
health and safety targets: IR less than 2.0<br />
and a minimum CSS Formal or Verification<br />
Audit level 3, with 70 points. The site may<br />
not win this award in successive years.
