LED technology spotlights<br />
ERCO’s Cantax, Emanon and<br />
Optec spotlight ranges already<br />
include varychrome versions with<br />
LED technology. These ranges have<br />
now been extended to include LED<br />
spotlights with either daylight<br />
white or warm white lamps. The<br />
new spotlights benefit from the<br />
greatly improved features of the<br />
latest generation of white LEDs<br />
specifically in terms of luminous<br />
flux and colour rendition. As professional<br />
lighting tools they can<br />
now be used for many more applications<br />
in architectural lighting<br />
and are a valuable alternative to<br />
conventional light sources.<br />
The spotlights with LED technology<br />
provide all the advantages<br />
inherent to the operating principle<br />
of these lamps. These advantages<br />
include an exceptionally long service<br />
life and low IR and UV radiation<br />
while the luminous efficacy<br />
of the LEDs is comparable to metal<br />
halide lamps. Addi tionally, they are<br />
dimmable and can be re-started<br />
when hot just as with low-voltage<br />
halogen lamps. Optimised for efficient<br />
visual comfort, these new<br />
lighting tools integrate seamlessly<br />
into the system design of the ERCO<br />
Program and match other spotlights<br />
in each range through uniform<br />
product design.<br />
Thermally optimised highquality<br />
housings provide ideal<br />
operating conditions for all components<br />
to ensure that the long life<br />
advantage of LEDs are achieved.<br />
The lens systems with special optical<br />
components, developed and<br />
produced by ERCO, provide a choice<br />
between two light distribution patterns<br />
based on the spot and flood<br />
emission angles of conventional<br />
spotlights.<br />
As one would expect, the LED<br />
spotlights are available as Light<br />
Clients with DALI-compatible<br />
control gear. The result is that<br />
their digitally coded luminaire ID<br />
together with Light System DALI<br />
provides the full range of userfriendly<br />
functions and time plug<br />
and play.<br />
In terms of luminous<br />
flux, spotlights<br />
with white<br />
LEDs are now a<br />
useful alternative<br />
to spotlights<br />
with low-voltage<br />
halogen lamps<br />
50W. While the<br />
LEDs do not yet<br />
match the perfect<br />
colour rendition<br />
