Food lighting Fresh food generally benefits from lighting using brilliant light sources, such as spotlights or floodlights with high-pressure discharge lamps. In contrast to the light of linear fluorescent lamps, for example, it has a better modelling effect due to the directed light, emphasising surface qualities such as gloss and texture. The next step is to match the spectral composition of the light with the products which are to be illuminated. With food filter Emphasising the red and magenta elements of the spectrum makes the natural colour of meat and sausages appear richer and brighter. The products look fresh, attractive and appetising. Without food filter Lighting that does not match results in dull looking, unappetising products and overall a less attractive appearance. High-pressure sodium vapour lamps produce light with a distinct warm tone, rendering hues such as yellow, red and brown particularly vividly. Food lighting Food filter Based on ERCO’s food lighting concept, the food filter is available as an accessory for many spotlights.
